The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead (Review)

This is the second book of the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead, and if you havn’t read it i suggest you do. But first go and read the vampire academy series, and the first book in the Bloodlines series, otherwise you wont understand anything. Anyway, this book got a 4.42 on goodreads which is AMAZING!!! And honestly it deserves it, because of two things. Numero Uno- Its awesome and the plot is awesome and the characters are awesome and Numero Dos- DIMITRI!!!!!!! So here’s the summary:

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

Sydney would love to go to college, but instead, she’s been sent into hiding at a posh boarding school in Palm Springs, California–tasked with protecting Moroi princess Jill Dragomir from assassins who want to throw the Moroi court into civil war. Formerly in disgrace, Sydney is now praised for her loyalty and obedience, and held up as the model of an exemplary Alchemist.

But the closer she grows to Jill, Eddie, and especially Adrian, the more she finds herself questioning her age–old Alchemist beliefs, her idea of family, and the sense of what it means to truly belong. Her world becomes even more complicated when magical experiments show Sydney may hold the key to prevent becoming Strigoi—the fiercest vampires, the ones who don’t die. But it’s her fear of being just that—special, magical, powerful—that scares her more than anything. Equally daunting is her new romance with Brayden, a cute, brainy guy who seems to be her match in every way. Yet, as perfect as he seems, Sydney finds herself being drawn to someone else—someone forbidden to her.

When a shocking secret threatens to tear the vampire world apart, Sydney’s loyalties are suddenly tested more than ever before. She wonders how she’s supposed to strike a balance between the principles and dogmas she’s been taught, and what her instincts are now telling her.

Should she trust the Alchemists—or her heart?

Now go! Go and read this marvelous book and come back and READ!

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Finally!!!! A book that indulges my need for DIMITRI!!! So I was expecting there to be a fight to the death between Dimitri and Adrian. I was waiting the whole book for Adrian to just attack Dimitri and start yelling “You took her from me!!!!” (referring to Rose) and the Dimitri would just do some amazing ninja moves and there would be a- wait for it- battle to the death. But the further into the book i went, the more Adrian was in love with Sydney, and this started to bother me. I was not happy, and when the book ended, and Dimitri announced that he was going back… my heart broke. How Am i going to see Dimitri now??? How??? How??? Also there was no fight to the death.

Anyway, to the start of the book. Sydney is walking down this staircase with some guy called… Zeke??? I can’t remember really, but they are going to some alchemist meeting that is going to decide whether Keith is going to go back to the re-education center. And from what it sounds like according to Keith is that they just torture you there. Like, water boarding, driving wood under your nails, chopping off your limbs. And Sydney does the good thing and tells them that Keith is a horrible person but she doesn’t think he has any good opinions about vampires. Aaaand, they still send him back to the re-education center. Damn… thats harsh. And then we meet Liam, who I thought was going to bite our butts later on in the book. But he didn’t. And seeing Liam honestly scared me. Who would want that? to become a Strigoi? Anyway, we get back the school and Eddie and Sydney and Adrian are with us. Also we have two LOVELY newcomers, Sonya, and Dimitri. Now, I was expecting Dimitri to have a much bigger role in this book than he did. He was just a background character. I mean, yes, he did have his occasional moments of bad-assery but then he would just disappear into the distance and fade out. Back to the main story. So Sonya and Dimitri and Adrian (not really) are trying to find out what stopped the Strigoi from being able to eat Lee, who by the way, will always have a place in hell, and they thought that it was because he once was a Strigoi and so they were doing tests on Dimitri and Eddie, because they were both dhampirs and one of them had previously been a Strigoi. So Sonya and Adrian were watching Dimitri’s and Eddie’s auras and blood and looking for something irregular. Then Sonya wanted to take some of Sydney’s blood to send it to the lab to see if there was something different with hers, because the Strigoi found her blood revolting, and she started freaking out and then Adrian started defending her and all hell broke loose. He was all “She doesn’t have to if she doesn’t want to!” and then Sydney was like, that was weird. And Angeline is failing school. She starts punching people and getting suspended. I mean, you would think the alchemists would try and protect Jill with more… experienced people. But no, apparently Angeline is good enough security for them. Don’t EVEN get me started on Brayden and how no one can remember his name. He was, at first, the perfect match for Sydney. He was smart and… and… um… yeah he was just smart, and that was probably why he started getting on my nerves really quickly, also because SYDRIAN!!! Anyway, i loved how Sydney started ditching Brayden for helping Adrian and calling it family stuff. Literally every single date she would either not show, and/or leave early. Which i liked because she spend more time with Adrian but that’s besides the point. And then when some guy randomly stopped Sonya in the street and said he recognized her… that was already a no good sign. They needed to get the hell out there. BUT! As in most books they never see the bad things before they happen. SO these “warriors of light” come into the picture. They are just like the Alchemists, but more violent. And hellbent on eliminating Strigoi, which is not possible, because Strigoi are much stronger than dhampirs let alone humans! AND Trey is one of them. And then they kidnap Sonya, because they believe she is still a Strigoi. If she was still a Strigoi ALL OF YOU WOULD BE DEAD!! And then BOOM BAM!!! Dimitri and Eddie come in and save them all. Obviously. And then we have to talk about Adrian and Sydney and the car. They car that Adrian “can’t” drive. Bull CRAP! YOU JUST WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH SYDENY! Not that I have a problem with that! And then Adrian kisses her and then some other irrelevant stuff happens and then Dimitri leaves us and then BOOM!!! THE END!!!! NEXT BOOK NOW!!!!!

Under-Hyped Books #1

Hey guys! Today I would like to talk about some under hyped books. Or under hyped in my opinion. Which means none of my friends have read them or heard about them.

The first book(s) i will talk about is Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder:

3462638 3462639 1966969

Don’t mind the cover change for the last book. It annoys the hell out of me but i have to deal with it.

Anyway, these books are actually one of my favorite series. They have everything from action and romance to the supernatural and downright creepy. But one of the other reasons why I like these books is because they are so original. Granted the first book was published in 2007 before Twilight came out but still. It is pretty original. The series got an average of 4.08 on Goodreads. And the summary doesnt do it justice but I will give it here anyway.

About to be executed for murder, Yelena is offered an extraordinary reprieve. She’ll eat the best meals, have rooms in the palace—and risk assassination by anyone trying to kill the Commander of Ixia.

And so Yelena chooses to become a food taster. But the chief of security, leaving nothing to chance, deliberately feeds her Butterfly’s Dust—and only by appearing for her daily antidote will she delay an agonizing death from the poison.

As Yelena tries to escape her new dilemma, disasters keep mounting. Rebels plot to seize Ixia and Yelena develops magical powers she can’t control. Her life is threatened again and choices must be made. But this time the outcomes aren’t so clear…

Anyway. To recap this book is about a girl called Yelena who murdered a man called Reyad (yeah they have strange names in this book), who raped and tortured her for several years. But don’t let that discourage you from reading the book because you don’t read any of those parts. Anyway, it takes place in a strange land that is in the time equivalent of the early 1900-1990 because they don’t have cars but they don’t wear big dresses and such. Its difficult to explain but its pretty clear once y0u start reading. Anyway, so this girl is about to be executed because the punishment for murderer is death and then the food taster dies and she must be offered the position of the food taster. And then this hot assassin comes into the picture and its all so perfect!!!!! So I recommend you read this book

The next book is Beauty Queens by Libba Bray:

As girly this book may look and sound, its actually really awesome. It takes a while to get into it, but once you do, its great. It’s like Lord of the Flies but girl version. Um.. make that girl pageant version. It got 3.57 on Goodreads which is quite low in my opinion because i really liked it. It has bursts of humor and raw emotion and it makes you very confused and angry a lot of the times. The summary sums about one fourth of the book up, so I’ll make sure to add in the smaller details that are necessary:

The fifty contestants in the Miss Teen Dream pageant thought this was going to be a fun trip to the beach, where they could parade in their state-appropriate costumes and compete in front of the cameras. But sadly, their airplane had another idea, crashing on a desert island and leaving the survivors stranded with little food, little water, and practically no eyeliner.

What’s a beauty queen to do? Continue to practice for the talent portion of the program – or wrestle snakes to the ground? Get a perfect tan – or learn to run wild? And what should happen when the sexy pirates show up?

Being crashed on a desert island (p.s its not really deserted) the girls all have their reasons for being there, and all are touching and inspiring each in their own way. The book is told through different point of views from all the different girls and a couple of other people (hint some of who are planning to “dispose” of the girls for “unknown” reasons). If you like funny/sad/inspiring books, this is the one for you.

Yes I know this is technically a childrens book but that doesnt stop it from being good. Up next the Mysterious Benedict Society trilogy by Trenton Lee Stewart:

83369 2159225 12061525

These books are about smart, quick thinking, problem solving kids who are sent on a mysterious mission. The books got an average of 4.15 on Goodreads. And as in all of the other examples I have given, the summaries don’t quite give a detailed description of what the book is about:

“Are you a gifted child looking for special opportunities?” ad attracts dozens for mind-bending tests readers may try. Only two boys and two girls succeed for a secret mission, undercover and underground into hidden tunnels. At the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened, the only rule is – there are no rules.
The first book follows a boy called Reynie who is an orphan with an extraordinary mind as he tackles a set of tests that send him into a mysterious society that is planning on saving the world. Only three other people make it. A boy called Sticky, a girl called Kate (the Great Weather Machine), and a girl named Constance. Each have their own unique and extraordinary talents. And together they will try and stop an evil man from brainwashing the entire world.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (Review)

I dont know if this is better or worse than writing a review about a sequel. I mean, it is the first book, however, the problem is that this IS a spin off series, and you have to read the first series (vampire academy) to fully understand this one. This book got a 4.28 on goodreads and in my opinion deserved it. It was a really good and deserves to be read and apreciated. Here comes the summary:

Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir – the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir – is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty – a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning..

This entire book i was just waiting for Dimitri to appear. That was my goal. Because Dimitri is my life. And I’m sorry if i spend half of this review talking about him, but I can’t help it. Anyway… where was I? Ah yes. I was waiting for Dimitri to appear and when does he appear. THE LAST SENTENCE OF THE ENTIRE BOOK!!!! I’m sorry Richelle Mead?? What is this??? Do you want me to throw a tantrum on the subway? It seems like you do! Now I’ll just be waiting until the next book so I can see Dimitri and Adrian battle to the death over Rose. Because you know imma be rooting for my Dimka. So anyway. To the topic of the book. Like Vampire Academy, it starts out slow… and rather boring. My initial thought was “Why is this not Rose?” which is a bad thought to have when reading a book. Anyway, Zoe bothered me from the start. She was being really mean to Sydney who was just trying to help her. I mean, I know that I wouldn’t want to have my life taken over by some strange organization who will have control of me FOREVER! And don’t even get me started on Keith. I will try and refrain from mentioning him at all in this review because I just hate him THAT much. So what can i say that doesn’t involve Keith. Well, we can talk about Micah. And how creepy that is. The moment he mentioned red hair I was like: WHAAAATTTTT ITS MASON!!! GUYS ITS MASON HE’S BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! Only it wasn’t Mason 😦 But both their names start with M.. huh? huh? nothing? Well. Never mind then. So also I wasn’t really expecting the whole “Adrian brought Jill back to life thing”. I always thought she knew how he was feeling because of his ability to talk to her in her dreams. And maybe that day she was accused of having a hangover, it could have just been the sun affecting her. However, that was not the case. APPARENTLY, Jill died in the attack, and Adrian saved her. I was all like WOAH DUDES!!! I never really liked Lee, he was too old! And stop! Before you judge me, I know Dimitri is older than Lee, but Dimitri is the exception. HE IS ALWAYS THE EXCEPTION!! And i had the right not to like him. Because in the end he ended up being evil. SO WHO’S LAUGHING NOW?? #JESSIEJREFERENCE I need to stop being so dramatic over books. But who else i there to talk about. I mean it wouldn’t be vampire academy unless there was a love triangle. Eddie. I feel sorry for that poor guy. But he cant help it he’s in love with Jill.

UGH!!! THE DILEMA! I need to talk about the tattoos but i can’t talk about them without mentioning Keith!!!! I mean, if i mention him once or twice it wont hurt that much would it? No? okay then! I was really curious when Julia and Kristin asked Sydney if her tattoo made her smarter. I mean, what kind of tattoos make people smarter? But then Trey started saying that some of the football team had them to make them better and stronger and then the whole mystery was unwinding. How does one put steroids into tattoos, also how do tattoos get you high? And then Adrian and Sydney figured it out. Vampire blood… buuuut… i thought it was vampire saliva that made you high… oh well, i guess vampire ‘fluids’ would work too. And dont even get me started about how i knew when Sydney walked into Nevermore and the guy saw her and was like “OMIGOD IM SAVED” I knew it was Keith (forgive me for mentioning his name, I’ll just call him hwsnbn (he who shall not be named)). But my question was where was hwsnbn getting the ‘fluids’. And then, the next time that Sydney went to visit Adrian, it hit me. Clarence! I felt really sorry for him because i really liked him. 😦 And i was sooo happy when Sydney turned hwsnbn in, because honestly, I just hated him sooo much.

Lets end on a happy note shall we? DIMITRI HAS RETURNED!!!! Now I can have some closure and not spend the rest of my life wondering what he is doing at this moment. I MUST READ THE NEXT BOOK NOW!!!

The House of Hades by Rick Riordan (Review)

Once again, I am terribly sorry for writing a review about the fourth book in the series before reviewing the first three books, however, like last time, I have just recently read this one and if I didn’t write a review on it now, I would probably forget everything. This book got FOUR POINT SIX ONE (4.61) points on goodreads! And here comes the summary:

At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy’s instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea’s forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don’t succeed, Gaea’s armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.
So! I was figuratively hit with a boulder alongside the “gang” during the first scene. Fist of all, I hadn’t read mark of athena in a long time and the only thing i remembered about how it ended was that Percy and Annabeth were in Tartarus and everyone else had gotten the Athena Parthenos. So you can imagine my surprise when the first scene of the book was them (Piper, Leo, Jason, Hazel, and Frank), was a fight scene between them, and some irrelevant mountain gods. I was really confused, but I just didn’t have the will to stop reading, go back to the mark of athena, and reread the last 5 chapters. No. House of Hades was here, in my hands, and it was going to stay that way! So I continued reading. They came out of that attack fairly unharmed and at that moment, and for the whole book actually, their primary goal is to get Annabeth and Percy back. When Arion arrived and took Hazel away, I was thinking he might take her somewhere to get answers and help. I would hardly call Hecate help. But Arion takes Hazel to Hecate and abandons her there *Shakes head disapprovingly*. Hecate starts teasing Hazel and telling her someone has to die. It’s just Hazels choice who will. When Hazel chooses the only option where Annabeth and Percy stay alive. Hecate warns her it’s the most dangerous one. But this is a Percy Jackson book. I only expect the most dangerous, adventurous, and daring. Hecate also tells Hazel that she will clear a path for them, to make it mor e safe. When Hazel gets back to the group, she tells them what they need to do.
Then the point of view suddenly changes to Annabeth. According to her, she and Percy have been falling for a day. Thats a rather long time to fall don’t you think? Wouldn’t the laws of physics come in during that day. Their speed would be to great and I think their skin would peel off. I doubt they would still be alive. BUT! this is Percy Jackson.  But after that day of falling Annabeth hears water. I was totally ready for there to be a miraculous landing. BUT! it is the river of misery, and Percy becomes depressed. But then he starts talking about Camp Jupiter because Annabeth told him to talk about their future together, so he wouldn’t die of depression. I find it funny how Jason wants to stay at Camp Half-Blood, and Percy wants to go to Camp Jupiter. Anyway. Annabeth and Percy find their way to Phlegethon. The river of fire in Tartarus. And Annabeth gets the insane idea to drink from it. And while she is dying on the inside from its heat. Percy thinks its just a little spicy. So the Phlegethon cures their boils, which i thought was gross. Cause boils are gross. And then Annabeth and Percy, DESPITE BEING IN TARTARUS!!! decide that they are going to be productive and close the doors of death, since they are already in Tartarus.
Then Back on the Argo II, Leo’s tool belt is being stolen by… monkeys??? dwarves??? So yeah, the Argo II is being robbed by monkey dwarves. And they run off with the archimedes sphere and Leo’s tool belt. And since Jason can fly and move faster, he and Leo go and find the monkeys so that they can give them the stuff back. When they find the… monkey dwarves… they get back all their things. But they also find a book! The dwarves are all like! NO PLEASE DONT RETURN IT!! cause apparently the person they stole it from will kill them, or something similar. But Leo and Jason make a deal that they wont tell who stole it if the monkey-dwarves can stall the Romans so that they don’t invade Camp Half-Blood. The deal is made and the monkey-dwarves are off.
Annabeth and Percy are following vampires back in Tartarus. And when the vampires spot them and start attacking. BUT BOB SHOWS UP!!! I think apart from Nico, Bob (and Small Bob) was my favorite character. He was so sweet and easy to like. But back to the intense fighting scene. Bob, and Percy and Annabeth have defeated the vampires. And then Percy’s point of view abruptly changes and we go and see Frank (who I always want to call Hank).
Frank is having troubles of his own. Mars and Ares are fighting in his head. And not only that, but when they are in the streets of venice, they seem to manage to get into this one alley that is covered with deadly cows and roots. And it turns out that the god of Agriculture takes them (Frank, Hazel, and Nico) in to save them (from the demon, poisonous cows). The god, Trip, says that he will help Frank cure Hazel, who has been infected with the cow-poison, if Frank can fix his chariot. Frank starts asking his Greek and Roman dads if they can help him find a python, since that is what is needed for Trip’s chariot to be fixed. Mars and Ares say that he must prove himself worthy. So Frank does the only thing Frank can do. He kills all the demon-poisonous cows in Venice. Smart Frank. Then his dads give him the python and he gives it to Trip who heals Hazel and lets Nico go and the three of them are left to go.
Percy and Annabeth are STILL in Tartarus. And Bob has been a great help. He has shown them to a temple in Tartarus where some poeple have made burnt offerings. So that means food. I don’t think they have every been that grateful for food. Then Annabeth gets an idea. She could send the burnt offerings backwards with a note. She could burn a note at the temple, and maybe it could be sent back to the place where the offerings came from. Smart thinking Annabeth. Smart. Then the three stumble across Hyperions little personal “bubble” in Tartarus. And Bob is confused for a while because Hyperion reminds him of himself, but he doesn’t remember him. Then Percy gets worried and tells Bob that Hyperion is bad and then Bob bursts Hyperions bubble. Literally. And in a little bit they get attacked by little cursed demons. That are basically the revenge police in Tartarus. If you kill one of them, the person who sent them will have their curse set on you. And when Annabeth kills one of them she goes blind. Bob and Percy help her out of that situation and at this point i think that if they didn’t have Bob, they would’ve been dead. Bob also says he will lead them to a cure for Annabeths Blindness.
Argo II is under attack. AGAIN! This time by a bandit, who wants all their valuables. So unwillingly, Hazel and Jason go with the intention to have Hazel use her magic to bring up some precious metals and give them to Sciron. And then they realize that they would die no matter what they do because he is the bandit known to kick people off the cliff he stays on. So they throw him over the cliff instead. There is a lot of death in this book. And then Hazel is visited by her dad who says that he is proud of her. Honestly Pluto sounds much nicer than Hades. Even though they are the same person… Then when they arrive in Split, Croatia, they go to visit Diocletians Palace. Where they meet Eros/Cupid and find out that Nico is…. GAY!! I still love you Nico! I still love you! That must have been awkward. Also, that scene made me think of Jason as a brat. And after that I just didn’t like him anymore.
Percy, Annabeth, and Bob (and Small Bob), go to find one of Bob’s friends, who would be able to cure Annabeths blindness, and because I didn’t have any particular special emotions attached to this scene I’m just gonna say that she was cured. Also I don’t want to bore you with a whole dissertation about The House of Hades.
The creepy people with the crush on Piper are back. Plus the lady… Isn’t Piper the most irrelevant person ever? I mean Rick Riordan tries to make her relevant… but its not working. Anyway, again, they freeze her friends and when Piper outsmarts them by telling them she knows a secret she goes (according to the Coach) all kung fu on them. But there is a bomb that is going to explode and when it does, Leo goes flying into an alternate dimension. HE MEETS CALYPSO! At first i was really skeptical. I didn’t like Calypso. She was too bratty and arrogant and… Leo’s so sweet and funny. But they go a few days not talking, and Leo burns his clothes at lest 5 times. Then one day they start talking and they mention opening a business together and he could spontaneously combust into flames an- awwwwwwwww! That part really got to me. And when he promised to come back for her! Now i NEED them to be together! When Leo gets back to the ship, they all head to Tartarus and try and find the doors of death!
As do Percy and Annabeth. They are concealed by the death mist and getting closer and closer to the doors. And at the end when Bob helps them and sacrifices himself so that they could get out! Even though he now knew that Percy had wiped his memories. AWWWW! my heart melted. The other group wasn’t as significant at this point so I’ll just keep on Percy and Annabeth till the end of the review (which is really close). So with the help of Bob and another Titan, they close the doors and meet the other people in the gang. The saddest part of the whole book was at the VERY end when Percy looks up at the stars and says “Bob says hello.” Because Bob asked him too *Crying indefinitely*.
Sorry guys that this review was really long, but It was a really good book! It had really rapid changing scenes, so I had to talk about all of them. But i liked it because my attention didn’t have to be on one thing for too long. Anyway, if i missed something you liked about the book, or you agree with me, make sure to like and comment and I’ll reply as soon as possible!

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (Review)

Let me just get it out. PLEASE! DO NOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY THE TITLE! I for one, am not one of those people that reads a lot of contemporary books. But for this book, I made an exception. And it was worth it. SO MANY EMOTIONS!!! This book has a whopping 4.2 rating on goodreads. Which was one of the reasons I picked it. Because I realized I suck at explaining things, from now on I will post the official summary on the reviews. So this is the review for Anna and the French Kiss:

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris–until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all…including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?
If you have not read this books. Please, Stop, drop and roll… wait thats not right. Stop, go to the nearest bookstore, and buy. Yes, thats more like it.
Lets talk this book. It starts out and I already don’t like Anna’s parents. I know that I would hate my parents if they just suddenly shipped me off to boarding school. But once she gets to the school, I dislike them a little less (only because they sent her to a nice, proper school, and not because her dad is a money obsessed jerk). I mean, its not my fault Anna is anti-social and totally ignores Meredith. She seems totally nice, go hang out with her. Also isn’t St. Clair the coolest name. But I’m gonna admit its kind of weird that he’s really short. But isnt Anna the most awkwardly anti-social person? She barely talks to anyone even if they invite her over to talk to them. But I understand her problem about not speaking french. I mean, I can speak french (not fluently though) but my problem is German, and when people ask me something in german, my first response is “say you dont speak german” even if i SOMEWHAT understood what they said. ANYWAY! On with the book. So Anna is anti-social, we got that but lets talk Anna’s life back home. Toph, and Bridgette, and her money obsessed jerk of a dad. Toph seems really cute, and yet, really (like Anna) anti-social, and quiet. Unwilling to talk to anyone. Bridgette seems awesome. Especially because she uses sophisticated words that I wish I had in my vocabulary. But I dont, which brings me great pain. And her dad is a horrible person who sounds a lot like Nicholas Sparks… just saying. It starts getting interesting when St. Clair takes her sight seeing (by the way, I’m calling him St. Clair because its a cooler name). I was sure there was gonna be something there. BUT WAIT! Has a girlfriend and it is all ruined. And then school resumes to normal and Anna had convinced herself that she feels NOTHING for St. Clair. And that bothered me. Come ON Anna, this book is in fact called Anna and the French Kiss (though SHE probably doesnt know that), there’s gonna be some action. The question is when. But then she starts dating Dave. ….humph…. Dave. And then he starts spreading rumors that Anna slept with him, and starts calling her a slut and then St. Clair punches him. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA BURN!!!! But they get sent to the principals office…. :(. And then St. Clair starts acting weird and then on halloween we find out his mother has cancer. Was it just me, or did everyones heart stop when he screamed and fell to the ground. And then wouldn’t you know it, horrible father #2 decides St. Clair cant see his mom. Superb. Sometimes i really want to stab book characters. That was one of those times (the father, not St. Clair). And the for thanksgiving both Anna and St. Clair stay at the school and then they sleep in same bed- AWWWWWWW!!! Emotion overload. And then CHRISTMAS comes along. And Anna goes back home. And she’s gonna see Toph and Bridgette and – hold on, I’m sorry, but i TOTALLY knew that Bridgette and Toph were gonna be together. I was positive and I was just waiting. And then Anna finds out and hates the world. Smooth Anna, smooth. She starts ranting to St. Clair, who has been communicating with her through email. When they get back, there isn’t much that happens except sometimes they argue and then they become friends again. The one thing that really interested me was the time when they were in the club and they were dancing all sexual like and then Ellie’s roommate saw then and St. Clair leaves and Anna gets pissed and never speaks to him again. While we’re on the topic of Anna’s indecisiveness, can we talk about her name choosing.  St. Clair- NO, Etienne- NO St. Clair! CHOOSE ALREADY!! And then Meredith has a crush on St. Clair and then both she and Anna are mad at him for going back to Ellie. But as it turns out he went to Ellie to break up with her. You see, Anna, no need to change his name again. LOL. And then St. Clairs mom gets cured and he goes to see her. ALL IS WELL IN PARIS (read ‘paris’ in a french accent for maximum effect)! And then they go to the Botanical gardens and there is an intense make out session (FINALLY) with Anna and St. Clair. But uh-oh! Meredith sees them and gets pissed. And then after a while of talking she understands and they all become friends again and graduate! YAY!
Sorry for the kinda rushed ending, but other than those things not a lot happened. If you disagree with me make sure to comment on this post and tell me what I missed out 🙂
